This page explains what personal information Happy Chimney Sweep collects when you book, email or use this website, and how we use it. It is written for a small UK local-service business. It is not legal advice.

When you book, email, text or call us we typically need your name, telephone number, email address, home address or postcode, and details of the appliance or work you want doing (for example stove, open fire, cowl or stove install). If you send a message through the online booking form on connect.happychimneysweep.co.uk, that form is hosted by our booking provider (GoHighLevel / LeadConnector) and they will receive the details you type in so we can arrange the visit.
We use your details to arrange visits, quote for work, issue sweep certificates or invoices, and to get back to you about a job. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for unrelated marketing lists.
We handle this information because it is needed to take steps at your request before a contract, to perform a contract for a booked visit, or because we have a legitimate interest in running a safe, insured local trade business (for example keeping a record of a certificate we issued).
We share what is needed with our booking system (connect.happychimneysweep.co.uk), and with HETAS where an installation is notified that way. If you choose to leave a public review on Checkatrade, Facebook or similar, that review is on their site under their terms. We do not pass your details to other trades or mailing lists.
We use Google Analytics 4 (G-VHZYKG0R7M) and Google Ads (AW-16718419737) only if you choose Accept on the cookie banner. That choice is stored in localStorage so we remember it. Reject keeps the site working without those tags. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. We do not use Meta pixels or other advertising networks. The previous Wix site used Universal Analytics (UA-90426984-1), which no longer processes new hits.
We keep booking, certificate and invoice records for as long as we need them for the work, insurance and accounting. Booking-system records follow that provider’s retention settings.
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we no longer need it. Email info@happychimneysweep.co.uk or call 07700 140030. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information.
