These terms apply to chimney sweeping visits. They do not replace a price we confirm when we book, or a signed quotation or invoice. Confirm anything that is unclear before the visit.
A sweeping visit is booked by telephone, text, email or the online registration form at connect.happychimneysweep.co.uk. Please give a working telephone number, the postcode, and the type of appliance. We will confirm the appointment as soon as we can.
Someone over 18 needs to be at the property. Please clear the hearth and move fragile items away from the fireplace before we arrive. We protect the immediate area; we cannot work safely around cluttered hearths or unattended children and pets in the same room.
A standard sweep is the sweeping of the flue we have been asked to clean and a visual check from the fireplace. It does not automatically include CCTV, nest removal, cowl fitting or masonry repairs. If we find a problem we will explain it and quote before extra work.
For local areas a stove sweep is £60* and a fireplace sweep is £70*. Other areas please enquire. No VAT is payable. Discounts are available for multiple sweeps on the same day. Extra work is quoted separately. The price we confirm when we book is the price for that visit, unless the job changes on site.
Please give as much notice as you can if you need to move the visit. Repeated no-access visits may be charged.
A sweep certificate is issued for the flue we have swept. It is not a structural survey of the chimney or a guarantee that the appliance is free of all faults.
